Spaces to Thrive
This year there are many new options for students during lunchtime. The CTK staff have made a Lunchtime Activity Club that has given students a place to relax. Students are supervised by teachers in the hall and can play with toys such as LEGO, toy cars, board games or they can be creative and draw or make origami. STEM in Action
Year 5 have been inventing their own electronic games with Makey Makey. The Makey Makey allows you to take everyday objects and combine them with the internet. Using the alligator clips attached to any conductive material you can control the keyboard of your computer, such as the space bar, arrow keys and left click of the mouse. Students are creating their own games for their classmates to play.
Nursing Home Outreach
Our usual outreach to the elderly of our community looked very different this Easter. Due to Social Distancing Regulations, we were unable to make our annual Easter visit. We decided we could still make contact with Nursing Home residents by making our Easter Cards, writing kind words and having them delivered. Receiving a “thank you” note from one of the residents confirmed that our token of friendship was received
