Principal’s Message

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Christ the King Catholic Primary School Bass Hill, through which I hope you gain a deeper insight into our wonderful school community.

At Christ the King we believe in the provision of a dynamic, authentic and inclusive curriculum that engages, supports, and challenges all learners, and nurtures creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Our teaching and support staff have high expectations for all students and aim for every child to achieve their fullest potential in an empowering, innovative and faith-filled community. Children’s learning outcomes are maximised when schools, families, and the Parish work together, and we are blessed at Christ the King School to have a strong community partnership that positively impacts learning and enables students to thrive.

As Principal, I invite you to come and visit our school to see all the different opportunities we offer to support the achievement of the mission of the school, ensuring excellence in educational outcomes and learning success for all students.

May Christ be with you.

Mrs Julie Casey

History and Charism
01-bass-hill-ctkps-about-us-out-historyChrist the King Bass Hill is a long established Catholic Community. On 29 January 1957, Josephite Sister Patricia O’Brien and postulant Sister Assunta arrived at Bass Hill to establish a school. Together with the parish priests, the early community strived to create a welcoming, warm environment for the students of the parish.

Our early educators were strong Catholics who demonstrated values of persistence and integrity and they have provided us with a deep community spirit which we celebrate today. At Christ the King we continue to learn about and celebrate our Josephite tradition inspired by the charism of St Mary of The Cross Mackillop, where in the words of Saint Mary of the Cross, ‘We must teach more by example than by word.’ (1867)
